Ethical Standards and Procedures for Update Publishing
Update Publishing is committed to upholding ethical standards among Authors, Reviewers, and Editorial Board Members associated with journals under IJMSMS. The following outlines the expected ethical conduct and standards:
Authorship Criteria:
- Authorship credit should reflect significant contributions to the study and manuscript preparation.
- Co-supervisors or Co-PIs in Ph.D. or Masterwork projects are insufficient for claiming authorship.
- The specific contributions of each author must be clear, with co-authors' roles stated at the article's
- A written statement for Update Publishing is required in the Reference Section.
- Consent from all co-authors is mandatory before submission.
Initial Screening
- Upon article receipt, the Editorial Staff will screen for format, journal scope adherence, originality, and potential impact.
- Articles not meeting Update Publishing's standard format will be returned for correction.
- Compliant articles proceed to External Peer Review.
External Peer Review:
- Authors may suggest at least three reviewers during submission.
- Reviewers should be from different institutions or countries.
- Editors may or may not contact suggested reviewers.
Ethical Expectations:
Articles should concisely outline the study's rationale, avoiding overly broad subject reviews or unfounded conclusions.
Authors' Responsibilities:
Authors must ensure originality, creativity, and adherence to Update Publishing's anti-plagiarism policy. - Permission from all co-authors is required before submission.
- Proper acknowledgment and citation of previously published sources.
- Permission letters are mandatory for previously published figures, data, or tables.
- Authors must retain raw data and be prepared to provide details when necessary.
- Grant sources should be approved, and conflicts of interest disclosed.
Reviewers' Responsibilities:
- Reviewers evaluate scientific value objectively, focusing on novelty, creativity, and potential impact.
- Technical aspects, methodology, and study plans are crucial components of the review.
- Reviews should be conducted promptly, maintaining confidentiality.
- Reviewers must disclose any potential conflicts of interest.
- The review process must remain unbiased, irrespective of author(s)' characteristics.
